SOLARIS research infrustructure available in October 2018

SOLARIS research infrustructure available in October 2018

In October 2018, scientists from Poland and abroad will gain access to SOLARIS synchrotron research infrastructure. Measurements will be possible on PEEM, XAS, and UARPES experimental end-stations.

PEEM/XAS (photoemission electron microscopy / X-ray absorption spectroscopy) is the bending magnet beamline dedicated to microscopy and spectroscopy in the absorption of soft X-rays.

UARPES is the undulator beamline dedicated to ultra-angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy. It will provide scientists with photons in vacuum ultraviolet range.

Currently both beamlines are still under commissioning, which may influence their overall performance. During first experiments all beam parameters may differ from theoretical assumptions.

Call for proposals for access to SOLARIS end-stations will be announced soon.

Scientists who would like to use the SOLARIS research infrastructure in combination with other complementary techniques provided by the partners of the Central European Research Infrastructure CERIC-ERIC, can submit their applications now. The deadline is 2018, 30 March. Detailed information about the CERIC-ERIC call for proposals can be found on the consortium's website.
