SOLARIS Centre hosted the LEAPS-INNOV annual meeting and LEAPS General Assembly

SOLARIS Centre as a member of the League of European Accelerator-based Photon Sources (LEAPS), was organizer the LEAPS-INNOV annual meeting which took place from 8th to 10th April 2024. The conference was held in a hybrid format and was attended by a total of 120 participants. Than was followed by a scheduled meeting of the Consortium's Board of Directors, which deliberated on the strategic directions of development during the LEAPS General Assembly. The meeting with leading representatives of the European synchrotron community was also joined by the Director of the Department of Innovation and Development (DIR) of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Michał Doligalski.
EU project RIANA launched - A hub for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology

More than 100 participants gathered on a hybrid meeting at DESY on 14-15 March to officially kick-off the new EU project RIANA. RIANA (standing for Research Infrastructure Access in Nanoscience & Nanotechnology) has officially been launched on 01 March to offer access to Europe’s leading facilities in nanoscience and nanotechnology that are at the heart of the development of new materials for prosperity and sustainability.
Summary of the thirteenth call for proposals

The thirteenth call for proposals at the SOLARIS Centre ended on April 3. Once again, the Centre received a record number of applications. Scientific teams from all over the world submitted 171 applications.
The largest Science Popularization Centers hosted at SOLARIS

Representatives of seven of Poland's leading science popularization centers were guests of SOLARIS at a meeting inaugurating popularization cooperation. The EC1 Science and Technology Center in Lódź, the Leonardo da Vinci Science Center, the “Młyn Wiedzy” Modernity Center in Toruń, Krakow's Cogiteon, the Experyment Science Center in Gdynia and the "Kortosfera" Center were some of the units that joined the event.
International Symposium Sylinda at the SOLARIS Centre

For two days (7-8 March 2024), the SOLARIS Centre was transformed into the capital of the world of X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS), thanks to outstanding specialists who accepted an invitation from the Krakow synchrotron.
The event was held in a hybrid mode and gathered about 300 participants who had the opportunity to participate in the symposium via the Zoom platform.
