Academic Centre for Materials and Nanotechnology of the AGH University of Science and Technology

Academic Centre for Materials and Nanotechnology of the AGH University of Science and Technology

The Academic Centre for Materials and Nanotechnology of the AGH University of Science and Technology together with the Jerzy Haber Institute of Catalysis and Surface Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the AGH Faculty of Physics and Applied Computer Science, and the SOLARIS team take care of the PEEM/XAS beamline and its two experimental end-stations. They are responsible for its proper operation and for achieving the best parameters of the delivered synchrotron radiation. They will also look for funds for beamline upgrading and for the preparation and implementation of research and development programs. Their task is also be to assist scientists from other organisations in carrying out their measurements on the PEEM and XAS end-stations.

MAXIV Laboratory

MAXIV Laboratory

MAXIV is a Swedish national laboratory at the University of Lund. It is a strategic partner of the SOLARIS Centre. Swedish scientists provided the Poles with a synchrotron design based on the unique technology of integrated magnets – the SOLARIS synchrotron is a replica of one of the two light sources in Lund. Since 2010, the Polish and Swedish team have worked closely together, sharing their knowledge and experience: initially in the field of building synchrotrons, and now as regards their operation.
